I found this today... probably killed by our cat Cricket. I think it is a Shrewmole. I love living in the country.

The shrew mole occurs in extreme northwestern U.S. (near coasts of CA, OR, WA).
I expect that your animal is either a short-tailed shrew or a least shrew, both of which are native Missouri mammals. The short-tailed shrew is about 3 or more inches long and is dark gray above. The least shrew will be less than 3.25 inches long and is dark brown to brownish gray above.
