Tufted Titmouse Feeding Out of My Hand

Any bird that's has the word MOUSE in it's name has to be my favorite...actually they are one of the tamest wild birds, the other one is a Chickadee.  Thanks mom for sending me this photo.

Pop Up Christmas Mouse Card And Mouse Sleeping In Log

I couldn't pass this card up at Books-O-Million.  I guess I bought myself a Christmas card.  I found the log above while I was chopping firewood...a perfect place for a mouse to sleep.

My Nephew and Mom Feeding Birds Out of Their Hand.

The bird here in the pictures is a Tufted-Titmouse.  One of my favorites. :)

Breeding Meal Worms

I've been breeding Mealworms for the past 3 months.  Just over a week ago I finally saw some baby Mealworms.  Last spring I fed two Bluebird families with store bought Mealworms and not only were they expensive, but they were always hard to find.  Mealworms come from the Darkling Beetle.

Flying Bat

This bat kept flying at me this evening then turning about 4 feet in front of me and flying away agian.  My batteries were low and the camera was slow to click the shutter.

Sunset Reveals Hiding Frog

I spotted this Green Frog on my Koi-pond today. Because of his ridges I believe he is a Green Frog and not a Bullfrog.

Sunset This Evening

I took these pic from my neighbor's property this evening.

Scenes From Work

Always try to use the toilet at the hotel before work.  Sky pics were taken on our way back to St. Louis.

Walking Stick

This was crawling on my mom's shed today.

Deer Antlers And More...There's a story here.

I asked my neighbor If I could walk on their 15 wooded acres and these are some of the things I returned with: the antlers of a young Buck, some Moss and this chewed up plastic container.  Well, about two months ago I had a container just like this one filled with fish food.  I left it near my Koi-pond and the next morning it was gone.  In faint letters the lid reads FISH.  Glad that mystery was solved.  I also asked my neighbor If they have been hearing this weird wood reed flute sound...I've beed hearing it for weeks...even tried to track it down.  About a week ago, on tv, I saw some Elk making this similiar flute sound.  I totally dismissed it as being Elk.  Well, my neighbor said, " yah know that someone just north east of here raises Elk."  So it's Elk.  Another mystery solved.

Cat watches mole scurry across the driveway.

Surprisingly enough, our cat Cricket was afraid of the mole.  And a good thing too.  They have nasty claws and needle like teeth.  My daughter Michaiah took this picture of me holding the mole by it's tail.  I let him go after the pic. at a nearby wooded park.

Spider and Bullfrog

Fond these creatures today.

Missouri Prairie Lizard and Box Turtle

Michaiah and I found this Lizard today and Box Turtle...we put the lizard on the Tree Face; he posed for us for about a minute.  The lizard jumped on the turtle's back all on his own and I took the pic.

Mole

It took four attempts to catch this mole.  Caught him late yesterday evening.  I safely released him elsewhere.

Immature Eastern Hog-nosed Snake

I found this snake along side my front porch.  He doesn't look like one of Missouri's many miniature snakes, but rather a baby snake of some sort.  He is about 12 inches long, thick body and flat stomache.
